Budget & Moderate: Hotel Utse: Located on Jyatha Rd in Southeast Thamel stands one of the longest running hotel/restaurant's in the district. The traditional Tibetan decor, incredible Tibetan Food, comfortable rooms, and gracious and welcoming staff make this hotel a must stay. Rooms average between $20-$45 US per night. http://www.utsehotel.com/index.html Kathmandu Guest House: A classic and popular establishment in Thamel that has loads of charm and is often booked weeks in advance. Many trekkers and some celebrities have stayed here. You can find rooms for for as low as $25 US per night but can spend much more. http://www.ktmgh.com/kathmandu-guest-house.html Aryatara Kathmandu Hotel: A beautiful 4 story hotel that I stayed in while volunteering in Kathmandu in May, 2015. It withstood both earthquakes and aftershocks and can be considered moderate/luxury accommodations that is clean & reasonably priced (around $40 per night) with friendly staff and good food. It is located down the alley from Himalayan Java near the Garden of Dreams. www.aryatarakathmanduhotel.com Tibet Peace Guest House: A well run family establishment is a calm and serene place to stay however you may need to view several rooms before committing. Kantipur Temple House: This traditional eco friendly guest house/hotel has Newari architecture and lovely, spacious rooms located in southeast Thamel. Luxury & High End: Hotel de l'Annapurna: Five star rated western style hotel with immaculate furnishings and top notch customer services. Also home to an adjacent casino and several restaurants including Ghar E Kabab, one of the best Indian meals we had outside of India with live traditional music. Rooms range from $180 for a deluxe room to around $600 (suite) US per night depending on the season and room options. http://www.annapurna-hotel.com Hotel Tibet International: Located very close to the Boudnath Stupa, this boutique hotel is very comfortable and has excellent customer service and cuisine for those wanting a quiet and tranquil stay close to Kathmandu.
