Coffee Shops are establishments you can purchase small amounts of marijuana & hashish in addition to baked goods, coffee, tea, and snacks. Some coffee shops also make food to order such as dutch pancakes. Coffee Shops vary in style, theme, & size and while many cater towards tourists and can be quite bustling there are others that you can relax for hours indulging in lively conversation or having time with your thoughts. There are over 200 coffee shops in Amsterdam so you are bound to find one that you enjoy.

Here are a few rules to remember when going to Amsterdam's Coffee Shops:
-You must be 18 years old to enter and may get asked for ID
-Confine your use of marijuana or hashish to inside coffee shops and not out on the streets
-Officially you can no longer use tobacco products inside Amsterdam's coffee shops but I saw many people still mix tobacco in their joints.
-Amsterdam's marijuana and hashish vary in strength but some strains can be very potent so be careful.
-Be careful if purchasing edibles as these can be quite potent.
-Alcohol is typically not sold in Amsterdam's Coffee Shops.
-Please ask for a menu and many of the coffee shops employees can be quite helpful if you have questions
-You can always purchase pre hand rolled marijuana and hashish joints from most coffee shops.
-Don't take pictures and act like idiots inside the coffee shops or you may be told to leave. Have fun but be respectful and have common sense.
-Many coffee shops sell delicious coffee, tea, non alcoholic fruit smoothies and other delicious treats.
